Yes, I said "GREEN EGGS"

I was delivering a flyer to our friends at The Romany Rest Bed and Breakfast, hosts Sandra and Fred. Before I left Fred handed me a dozen eggs. They have their own chickens and I would imagine a rooster or two. When I opened the carton there were white eggs, brown eggs and 4 green eggs. Guess Fred forgot to mention to "his girls" that Easter was over. I had never seen green shelled eggs in my life that hadn't been dyed. I was amazed! I hear that Fred and Sandra are also going to get their own sheep this year.

These folks are amazing! Fred is very handy and built the Romany Wagon (picture above). He has done a lot of work on the house and decks as well.

Spend a day with Sandra in her kitchen (Country Kitchen Days) making cheese, yogurt, and jams. Sandra will also show you how to can or dry foods for winter storage. Best of all, you not only get to make it, you get to take it home.

As if the above doesn't keep Sandra busy, she also does workshops on rag rug crocheting, rug or basket braiding. Sandra has kits available to get you started on these projects.

New Friends

We took a couple of days last week and went to the Bay of Fundy in New Brunswick. For those of you that are not familiar with the Bay of Fundy, it is one of the marine wonders of the world. The tides change up to 44 feet. We arrived at low tide and did manage to get down to walk on the ocean floor. Quite amazing!

Our stay to say the least was exceptional. We stayed at Innisfree Bed & Breakfast. Our hosts were Elaine and Alan Demaline. Their B & B is just 10 minutes up the road from Hopewell Rocks entrance. We kept them up till the wee hours talking, comparing notes and talking about places visited. Elaine and Alan just came back from 2 months in New Zealand. Our room and breakfast were incredible. I especially enjoyed the fruit cup because I didn't have to make it.

If you ever get to Hopewell Rocks area, look up Elaine and Alan and of course stay at Innisfree B & B. Don't forget to say hi to them for us. I can guarantee that you will leave with "New Friends" to put on your Christmas List.

Lobster Get-A-Way

Hi everyone. Lobster season at this end of the Island is only 2-1/2 months away.That would be May 1st, 2008. We offer "Lobster Get-A-Ways" (please see our newly revamped website at http://www.countrycharmpei.com/ under "Packages"). For the months of May and June we offer "fresh catch of the day". Yep, that's right - we have a source of supply that brings us fresh lobster right off the boat every day. For the best taste and freshness, the lobster are cooked right in sea water while you eat your freshly steamed mussle appetizer. You get to choose your check in and check out times. Next morning, we send you on your way with a "no lunch breakfast". We can accommodate up to 4 couples, and have a party area, so gather your friends and come for a weekend of good food and good friends. Joan

Snowshoeing

Hi everyone. We have beautiful snow! If we don't get the rain, snowshoeing or X-country skiing should be great out here. Our yard is so beautiful with all the trees covered in snow. Glenn spent the better part of yesterday clearing our driveways. Hopefully the snow will stay around so our "Snowshoeing or X-country Skiing Packages" will be available this year. We do "Winter Get-A-Ways" as well. For these, you just come and veg out doing whatever you want...sleep, read, hot tub it, sleep, read, hot tub it, etc. etc. We pamper you with a dinner of your choosing and the best no lunch breakfast you have ever eaten.
